Just a question: You're posting in the IA2011 forum, so I'm assuming you have IA2011. This version includes a VM Pack creation utility. Have you tried using that utility? One other note: the structure of the JRE directory and the name of the root directory both have specific requirements. I just created a series of 6u31 VM Packs using the VM Pack creation utility and it whined when I got to the Windows versions. Their JRE directory names where 'jre6' rather than 'jre'. When I renamed them to 'jre', the VM Pack creation utility was happy again. Here's the kicker: I haven't been able to test the new VM Packs because I can't get IA to load my project files... (noted in a separate thread). So, in reality, I can't vouch for the accuracy of the VM Pack utility.

After a recent upgrade from IA2010, and a subsequent command-line build failure due to a lack of disk space, I can no longer open my .iap_xml files. Symptoms (all actions are in Advanced Designer, on Linux): Opening any existing file from IA2010 (never before opened by IA2011), or any existing file previously opened in IA2011, hangs before the progress bar. Opening an existing IA2010 file, where resources are missing, allows the user to locate the resources, but then hangs. Creating a new .iap_xml file opens, even after making a small change, saving that file and then re-opening. While the file is being "opened," CPU usage on the Java task for IA is moderate (~25%) I've let IA execute in this state for two hours, hoping that it would eventually load. Still, the .iap_xml file does not load. I've attached an offending .iap_xml file to this message. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

InstallAnywhere 2011

We recently enabled the "always confirm" option for existing files on the File Settings section of our InstallAnywhere installer configurations. One of our installers creates three LaunchAnywhere executables. The installer writes a copy of lax.jar for each executable created. When installing to a new directory, writing the second and third lax.jar files results in dialogs confirming with the user to overwrite lax.jar (see attached image). Choosing the "Yes to All" option suppresses the dialog for the last instance of lax.jar. After writing the first lax.jar in an installation, subsequent lax.jars should either not be written or should be silently overwritten. Displaying these dialogs to confirm overwriting subsequent lax.jar files is erroneous. If there is a work around, we'd love to hear about it. However, we'd prefer to see this issue addressed with the next release of IA. Thanks.
