Actually , I have done the following 1) Created a sample MSI with default settings and added one dll file 2) Created a patch for the above said MSI and replaced the dll with a newer version . The settings of the patch project is attached as screenshots with this message. Please let me know if i am missing something. Thanks,

I have read that i can create uninstallable MSP file. I have made the Allow Patch to be uninstalled checked while building the patch, but somehow the patch is not getting visible under Installed updates in the Program and Features screen. Is there anything else i need to make the patch uninstallable?

I am creating a msi installer using InstallShield 2015, I need to pass a hex value to the installer via command line as given below msiexec /i setup.msi LCID=0x9 This LCID will get written into the registry in a DWORD type variable. However, I noticed that it will work only if i pass a decimal. Is there any way I can pass a hex value to the installer and write into the registry?

Hello,
I am working on a legacy installation project (InstallShield 2015), and they are not using any script, everything is done using designer. I need to get a custom value passed via command line during the setup and write that value into registry and INI file. I also need to validate the input that it is a hex value.
Can anyone please tell me how to achieve the above using installation designer?
Regards,
John
