Hello to all, I am trying to figure out what the various errord codes are from running a silent installation on Linux. I have checked with InstallShiled and what I get as returned, they don't list (no surprise). My application does not set any codes so I am lost and confused. I cannot determine how to get more debug info from my silent installation either. setuplinux.bin -debug -log /opt/test.log -silent -options test.rsp fails with an error code as well. Error codes being returned are 233 (from the above command) and 237 for a normal silent installation command: setuplinux.bin -silent -options test.rsp Thank you.

Instead of using isActive() try using something like: String checked = arg0.resolveString("$P(FeatureBeanID.active)") This will return a true or false string! You can do something like: if (arg0.resolveString("$P(FeatureBeanID.active)").equalseIgnoreCase("true") ){ its checked! } You can also use this for a Condition to any Custom Action or Dialog in the sequences with a StringComparison with $P(FeatureBeanID.active) = true Regards, Tom Thanks for the reply, but again - these do not work during Uninstall. It is as if NONE of the .active, .isActive(), or isActiveForUninstall() - work or apply to the Uninstall phase. 😞

Hello to all, I would like to know how we can detect the selected (checked/unchecked) Feature from the Uninstall Feature Panel? During the "Install", making use of "isActive()" for the feature/bean works great and will properly tell me if the Feature is selected or not selected (checked/unchecked). However, during the Uninstall, this ALWAYS returns true regardless of the Feature's state of being selected for removal. WHY?????? I have also tried using "isActiveForUninstall()" against the installed Software object. But, this always returns FALSE regardless of the feature selected for removal. WHY???? One would think there was a simple IS API to call and retrieve the checked state of the dynamically built Feature tree - but there is nothing I can find. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

danquo wrote: Not sure if anyone has encountered the need for this, but... I have an assembly that is used by several product installs that lays down some common files and performs some tasks during install. I would like to support upgrading the product and have the upgraded product re-execute the assembly installation (i.e. like a Replace property of "always replace"), so that the common tasks can be run again. From what I can tell, this doesn't seem to be possible unless the assembly's version is updated and I include the updated assembly. Am I wrong here? Is there a way to have a product install force an assembly to install/replace without having the assembly have an incremented version? Daniel I think you are correct and I too am having this issue. I have an assembly with 2 sub-features. Once one of features is installed I am unable to install the other. Probably due to the main UUID for the assembly being detected in the vpd. 😞

RobertDickau wrote: Windows-only MSI and InstallScript projects can use merge modules, but MultiPlatform does not consume them. Please see this similar thread: [thread]156802[/thread]... Other than referring to another thread which provides no information at all on this, is no way to include MergeModules for installation in the Multiplatform 11.5 product under any of the project 'types'? If what I have read/found so far is true it appears as though to have MergeModule support - I will need the Windows Only IS IDE such as Devleoper 11. Is this correct???
