It shouldn't be a problem as long as InstallAnywhere supports forward comptability. If it's backward compatability there could be an issue. It would be great to look in to this deeper if you could share an error message when try build the Tomcat 8 me...

As we coudn't encounter this , could you specify the exact Linux flavour (Including Version) , you are using to nail down this issue further?

We couldn't face any issues as such. It would be good if you could provide more details on the project configuration .
