Releases and Lifecycle Dates Changes for Adobe Acrobat

Class 2

Customers should be prepared and take actions

Change Summary

Technopedia is used to capture every single continuous release for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader. We set EOL for Acrobat Continuous track version N-1 when version N is released by considering that the known issues and bugs found on the earlier versions will always be fixed with the latest update and will not be fixed on the older patches.

Flexera has confirmed with Adobe that these continuous releases are not EOL. Therefore, Flexera is planning to stop adding any minor version to Acrobat and will remove the existing minor versions (e.g., 21.007.20091); only the following generic releases for Continuous track will remain:

  • Adobe Acrobat: 21.x, 20.x, 19.x, 18.x, 17.x, 15.0
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader: 21.x, 20.x, 19.x, 18.x, 17.x, 15.0

These generic releases will be set to 'TBD,' and no specific EOL/EOS will be applied if Adobe doesn't announce DC Continuous track is EOL.

Impact

This change will impact customers who have relied upon discovered data that was previously mapped to those minor versions. All relevant discovered evidence mappings will be remapped to the generic releases.

The complete list of changes is in the attachment below.

Note that Version Group/Version/Releases tagged 'To be deleted' will be removed from Technopedia in 6 months.

When

Customers should expect these changes to have been completed starting from November 26th to December 3rd.
