Change Title

Adobe Creative Cloud Lifecycle and Version Group changes

Class 2

Customers should be prepared and take actions

Change Summary

As Adobe has announced the Creative Cloud Support Policy, Flexera is planning to create a new support policy for Adobe Creative Cloud products in Technopedia. The details for the new support policy are as follow:

Support Policy

Creative Cloud Support Policy

Support Stage

Full Support

(This level will be defined as Technopedia EOL)

Limited Support

(This level will be defined as Technopedia EOS/Obsolete)

Definition

For the current (N) version of Adobe Creative Cloud, all customers can expect:

·         Feature Updates

·         Bug fixes

·         Security Updates

·         OS Compatibility

·         Assisted Support

Adobe also supports a designated Long Term Supported (LTS) version for Creative Cloud for enterprise customers. These covers:

·         Security Updates

·         Assisted Support

Adobe supports previous versions (N-1) for all customers and older versions (N-2) for Creative Cloud only for enterprise customers. Both the previous versions (N-1) and older versions (N-2) are limited in scope, which includes:

·         Assisted Support, only

Apply to versions

N: Latest version

LTS: Long Term Supported Version (This version is available for Creative Cloud for enterprise plans only)

N-1: Previous version

N-2: Older version (This version is supported for Creative Cloud for enterprise plans only)

According to the support policy, Technopedia Lifecycle dates for End of Life and End of Support will be changing, and some versions of Creative Cloud are no longer supported by Adobe. For example, the latest available version of Photoshop is 22.4.x (CC 2021), full supported versions include:

N: CC 2021 (22.x ), this version will be EOL when CC 2022 is released and EOS/Obsolete when CC 2024 is released.

LTS: 21.2, this version will be EOL/EOS when the next LTS version is released (LTS is designated by Adobe).

Limited supported versions include:

N-1: CC 2020 (21.x), this version is EOL when CC 2021 is released and will be EOS/Obsolete when CC 2023 is released.

N-2: CC 2019 (20.x), this version is EOL when CC 2020 is released and will be EOS/Obsolete when CC 2022 is released.

In addition, several versions/releases were inaccurately captured under version group CC 2021, whereas they should have been captured under version group CC 2020 instead. These versions/releases will be marked as ‘to be deleted’, and corresponding replacements will be created under the correct version group. These versions/releases include:

·         After Effects, versions 17.5, 17.6 and 17.7

·         Media Encoder, version 14.5, 14.6, 14.7, 14.8 and 14.9

·         Premiere Pro, version 14.5, 14.6, 14.7, 14.8 and 14.9

Impact

This change will impact customers who have Creative Cloud products and rely on the Technopedia Lifecycle content pack and discovered previously mapped data to Creative Cloud products. Lifecycle and several version groups will be reviewed and updated.

The attached spreadsheet provides the complete list of all releases in scope for this review.

When

Customers should expect these changes to have been completed starting from September 2nd to September 8th.
