are you running your MSI or setup.exe?
If setup, is it running as admin? If MSI try opening a command prompt as Admin and run msiexec.

I tried running setup.exe with admin privileges but still got the same error.
To be precise,
On running a msi based installer made with Installshield 2010 on Windows 2008 R2 machine,
validation error occurs:
Process name: msiexec.exe
Module name: kernelbase.dll
assert offset: 00014159
Moreover, Installer prompted me three choices with this error:
"Ignore once, Ignore always, Never ignore".
If I choose Ignore always, this error won't come again.
