how to call a custom action?

Hi,
I am new to Basic MSI, can anybody tell me:
1. what are all the ways to call a custom action?
2. what are the settings/properties i need to change?

Pls give me suggestion 😞

A good start would be the InstallShield help topic 'Using Custom Actions'. Follow that topic and sub-topics.
