I have looked and looked, but have been unable to find any information on integration with Visual Studio 2008. Does anyone know if or when this will be available (either for Installshield 12 or 2008)?
For anyone else needing this support, the way I got it to work was to examine the Visual Studio 8.0 area in the registry for all entries related to installshield, exported them (I found 10), changed the location from 8.0 to 9.0, and reimported the registry entries. I also had to find the entries in the Menus subkeys that related to the Installshield packages, but that was fairly straightforward.
After I fired up VS2008, I was able to work with Installshield 12 just like in VS2005. The only thing I couldn't do was open a solution that had an ISM already attached to it, but then I tested the same scenario in VS2005 and got the same results, so I suspect it is something in my installation rather than a problem with 2008 integration.
