Use enivronment variable to set Path Variable

I would like to set up an Install Shield Path varible using an Environment variable.

I would have thought I could have set the Defined Value of the IS Standard Environment variable like so:

%MY_ENV_VAR%\Folder.

This doesn't work and just provide a current value of:

%MY_ENV_VAR%\Folder

instead of something like:

D:\Folder

Does anyone know a way around this.

Thanks.

Hi There,

This does work, but there's a bit of a trick to it.

Basically, when you create an Environment-type path variable, it's assumed that the text of the Defined value column is just going to be the name of the variable by itself with no %'s or anything else.

You'll then define a second path variable that embeds your first path variable inside it. I've created a couple that illustrate this in the attached screenshot.
