Updating does not occur
I have express version
I change the product version number and product code GUID but leave the Upgrade code the same.
When I run the setup, it runs without errors but the executable on the target machine does not change.
Within Add/Remove, I now have two installs of the same product. If I remove the newer version install, then delete the executable on the target machine, then run setup, the new executable is there.
Can anyone help with this?

Use the 'Upgrade Paths' view. Create a new item and browse to the earlier version of msi, which you want to uninstall.

I don't understand why it doesn't overwrite the original files. The upgrade code has not changed and the product code has along with a version number change.
It acts like a completely new install but the files (an executable) does not copy over the existing file.
