Shared Property not Found
I would like to mark some files as shared. However when I right click on the file and select Properties, there is no shared property available. There is also no permanent property available.
The shared property of the component is set to Yes (default) but when I install the application the component's files are not showing up in the HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls folder.
I need to get these files marked as shared somehow so that a counter will be created in SharedDlls. Any suggestions?

The Shared and Permanent settings are associated with components, and not individual files.

Nevermind. I figured it out. I didn't have that file set as a key file. So I set the file as a key file and tried again and it worked. Recap - in order to make a file shared you need to set it as a key file and set the component as shared. Most of you probably already knew that though. Thanks.
