Setup.exe (Installshield 218) stopps on target system without any error message
Hi,
we are using IS2018 (R2 Version 24 Premiere Edition) since few weeks now. We are using IS2010 many years before.
With two of our latest installers a customer of us have a problem to start this.
This customer is using Windows 10 Home and the installer stops after selecting the language or directly after double click on "setup.exe"...
The same installer with IS2010 has no problem to start on the same target system.
I am notice this only
https://www.flexera.com/products/installation/installshield-requirements.html
Any more information about the requirement target system?
Any log files to check at the start of the setup.exe?

Hi
We can find the root-cause by tracking log file, for that you need to launch setup.exe with Setup.exe /debuglog"C:\PathToLog\setupexe.log" .Please attach it here to get relevant replies from community members

Hi,
sorry for delay.
We have used this link to get the log file
https://flexeracommunity.force.com/customer/articles/en_US/HOWTO/Logging-an-InstallScript-Project
This option wasn't creating an log file.
Setup.exe /debuglog"C:\PathToLog\setupexe.log"
Please notice the log file, now 🙂
Best regards
Andreas

Hi, sorry for my delay.
We are using this link to get the log file:
https://flexeracommunity.force.com/customer/articles/en_US/HOWTO/Logging-an-InstallScript-Project
This option was not good for us, no log file was created.
Setup.exe /debuglog"C:\PathToLog\setupexe.log"
Best regards
