Patch does not install files correctly.
Here is the problem definition: I have created a patch to our product which has a set of modified files (files are un-versioned). The modified files install just fine on an admin install location, but fail to install on a machine with the full base install. There are also some new files included in the same patch and the new files install just fine in both the cases.
The File table and the MSIFileHash table is correctly updated in the patch to reflect the changes to the modified files and also for the new files.
Does anyone know what could be going on? Just a pointer in the right direction will help - I am not looking for a complete solution.
Thanks.

If you create an MSI log file at run time, is there any specific information about the files that aren't overwritten?

Had issues with patch sequencing. Once that was fixed, the files updated correctly.

I am having similar problems, when you say Patch Sequencing - what do you mean by that?
