I have a problem with major upgrade. If I install a new version of the product in the old directory, then after copying the files they are deleting. Entry remains in the Add\Remove Program.
If installed in another directory, it is no problem.
Can you verify that the older version is being uninstalled before the FileCopy action of the newer version? If the uninstallation is happening after, you have to be very, very careful with component counting and such. Troubles with that could be what you're running into.
I am confident in the correct sequence of operations. The problem was in the next - it was necessary to select the tab "Major upgrade setting" - Completely uninstall old setup before installing new setup.
