InstallShield 2009 Professional and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5
I have had an issue with an installation build repeatedly crashing half way through. All I get is "Runtime error: abnormal termination". It happens at the same point each time whilst attempting to build a CAB file.
When I disabled the McAfee on-access scan and tried again it worked first time. Is there a known issue?

And these are the last three lines of the status window before it dies; when it works it also has another line for Disk1 Files(3):
Building cabinet file data2.cab
Feature: \Disk<1>

Ofcourse it depends on your McAfee config:
* Patch level?
* Exclusions?
* Do you scan at read aswell?
You might post your problem here aswell:

There are no specifically known issues, but generally, yes it is recommended to turn off system scanning utilities while building.
It looks as though you may be building an InstallScript project. The CAB building technology for this project type has not changed (significantly) in several versions. But as virus vs. scanner is an ever changing battle, the version you have may now suddenly have flagged the build process.
Is there any sort of 'learning' or 'heuristic' setting in McAffe which can be turned off? Does that help?
