Install Shield Major Upgrade Incomplete
All:
Ive spent time searching and have seen a couple of "similar" scenarios; but not one that i felt was actually relevant to my question. However, I will gladly accept re-direction to an existing thread if this turns out to be a repeat question.
SYMPTOMS:
InstallShield 2009 Sp2
VisStudio 2003 ASP.net app
Attempting MAJOR UPGRADE
Original .exe created in InstallShield 11.5
Major Upgrade configured to PROMPT user of upgrade.
Major Upgrade attempts Uninstall/ReInstall
Upgrade Prompt does not display...
"Upgraded" app fails with error:
REPAIR upgraded .exe (Repair can either be from Add/Remove Programs or simply rerun the upgraded .exe)
QUESTIONS:
1. What would cause the PROMPT configuration to fail?
2. Why might the UPGRADE not be completing the install on the 1st pass?
3. Is the CrystalReports assembly indicative of q2?

...looking over the original post I realized that I had not completely explained the results of the repair.
Repair completes the new install with all features.
