How to read a registry value?
Hello,
I need to read a registry value to determine if the installation shall proceed or not. I want this to happen at the beginning of the installation process, before anything is installed. How do I do that?
Thanks,
Peeter

Hi,
In Project Assistant > Installation Requirement > Create a custom software condition, there is an option to look for a registry entry.
You can choose to stop the install if it is not found.

Thank you for your answer. But I can't figure out how to evaluate the value of a a specific registry entry? It is not just enough to know if there is an entry or not. Any help is appreciated.
Best Regards,
Peeter

The installer is looking to see if the registry value you provided exists on the target system.
You do not need to know the value data it contains.
