How to Upgrade from IS2008 to IS2009
Hi,
Up to now we have worked on the IS2008.But now we have purchased IS2009.Hence when i run the projects which are done in IS 2008 under IS2009 It is asking for Convertion from IS2008 to IS2009 ..here the issue is if i convert it into IS2009 then the same project again I can not run on IS2008.How to solve this problem?????How to upgrade my application from IS2008 to IS2009
Thanks
Madhu

The File > Save As command enables you to save an .ism project file in an earlier InstallShield version's format.

I've actually encountered issues where that didn't work very well. What I suggest is you set up parallel builds that pull the same source .ISM ( IS2008 format ) and run against two different compilers ( 2008/2009 ). Compare the resultant MSIs and regression test the functionality and continue to do your checkouts and checkins using IS2008. When you are ready to make the move, just start checking out in IS2009 and modify your build automation so that the IS2009 build is your production build.
