Express 2009 Trial is always expired
I installed the trial of Express 2008 a year ago.
Then I purchased the upgrade to Express 2008 and have been using it for a year.
Now, I have tried the trial version of Express 2009, and while it will install,
it shows that the trial license for 2009 is expired.
How can this be if I've never installed 2009 before?

You should be able to evaluate InstallShield 2009 Express Edition on a machine on which you've previously activated InstallShield 2008 Express Edition. We've tested this in-house and didn't run into the problem that you described.
You might want to contact Acresso Sales, since they might be able to extend your evaluation period for you.
