I'm looking for a way to generalize the process of building MSIs, we currently have PHP scripts which output the files needed for the installation in the correct places next to the .ism file.
The problem is, which would be the recommended way to automate the process in which we generate variables such as ProductName, Shortcut Names, targets. We are currently using a Basic MSI project, would using an Installscript project make this process simpler i.e. alter the setup.rul file through php to change ProductName et al.
