Activate InstallShield 2014 with License Manager 2023
We've been using InstallShield 2014 SP1 with Flexera License Manager 2014 for floating licenses.
We recently upgraded the License Manager to 2023, and the licenses that our system admins loaded on it are for InstallShield 2023. When we try to point InstallShield 2014 at the new license server, we get an error that states:
Unable to connect to license server or license file.
Is this because of compatibility between License Manager 2023 and InstallShield 2014, or an issue between InstallShield 2014 and licenses for InstallShield 2023, or both?
InstallShield 2023 comes with the FlexNet License Server 11.19.0 and is backward compatible. Hence, InstallShield 2014 must be able to checkout the license.
However, if both the version of InstallShields have different editions, you will definitely get licensing error.
