InstallAnywhere efficiency..

Hi,

I am using InstallAnywhere 2011 enterprise edition to create installation setups for Windows 64-bit platform. During the evaluation of IA I created projects of size 190 to 250kn and it was fine. But now as the size of my project is almost 4800kb the IA is working very slow.
Can anyone please tell me is there any such issue with IA. And how can I get rid of this problem.

I am using system with configuration 3GB RAM and dual core processor (1.8GHz)

Thanks

This is around 4 times bigger than my biggest project. Would it be possible to post your project, maybe it can be optimized to be made smaller?

Hi,

My project is 4.2MB and I do not experience such slowness.

3GB RAM on a windows 64-bit might not be enough depending on what applications are running at the same time ...

Anyway one thing that consumes many space are the platform rules. So if in your project you use many of those platform rules, I would suggest removing the platforms from the "Do not perform on" cell.
Also the use of speed folders can reduce its size.

Hope it will help ...

thanks to you and jerome for your reply.

Have you got any rule at the beginning of the IA project in order to set on which platforms to run?

Thanks for the response.
Yes, Both for Platform (WIndows)
and for Architecture (Intel 32-bit, intel 64-bit, AMD 64 bit)

Should I not check in the installer rules but just check during pre-install?

As I add more Actions IA gets slower and sloooooooooower.
Does anyone know if changing the VM heap sizes would help?
