return server API call

Jump to solution

Hi,

I would like to run the "Return Server" as an api call.

See attachment of the webui page, in which "Return Server" appears.

I think, but need your approval, that the relevant api method for that is "returnHostRequest" which is part of "http://flex1336-uat.flexnetoperations.com/flexnet/services/v2/ManageDeviceService".

I've used this method, giving it data (see attachment 2 - data), but it response with a FAILURE status.

I wonder whether I use the right method for that and whether the given data field and structure is correct?

Thanks!

Efner

Attached is from the UI of FNO's returnHost() SOAP API, which is using v3/ManageDeviceService.  Whether it aligns with your use case, I'll let you respond.

Hello @efner_o ,

Here's a working example which returns a Cloud License Server with a STRING Device Id Type:

Thanks for your reply.

One of the field which you used for the query is "identity" which is missing from my webUI screen (I use UAT).  I've changed my return host query according to your answer, but it is still fails.

I attach 3 files:

1. the web ui screenshot which describe the fields that I have.

2.  get Device Query and its result (of the device I want to return).

3. My new return Host query which I changed a bit, according to your answer.

I would be glad if could have a look in them and tell me where I'm doing wrong.
