Unreadable Program Updates screens

While using the Program Updates-program, a couple of our clients get a screen (see attached picture) to see which is unreadable.

The Update Service-program is being installed with an InstallShield Professional 7 (up-to-date)-package. Also, i had install installshieldupdateservicesdk_4.1 on the developer-machine, and i have this problem also. When i uninstalled de SDK and install the older 3.1, the problem was gone. Then I updated the SDK to 4.1 without problem. I can't ask the customers to install de SDK, so what to do

Has someone an idea?

If it helps, go back in the forum past the normal 1 or 2 month limit and look up all the posts that discuss the Update Manager.

What you have is an Update Manager screen, which many of us have picked apart to no end. 🙂

The folks at Macrovision seem to understand that the Update Manager needs a serious overhaul. I'd assume whatever problem you are seeing now will hopefully be done away with in their new Update Service versions.

As for the current bug, I'd file it as a bug through MySupport. This forum isn't really a bug solving area, it's more of a community forum for end users. For your issue, you'll want to get involved more with the company directly. MySupport will help you with that.

Can you check to make sure that the ispmres.dll file is not missing from the common files\installshield\updateservice folder?

As i said before, i used the uninstall-pgm and then installed an update, which also installed the updateservice again. Today, while the weekly check was running, i got again those unreadable screen. I haven't installed anything.

The content of the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService
