Not Using VB
I am making use the update.exe file, using its command line parameters, but I want to provide a more customized interface and have more control over the update service functionality and I've been reviewing the samples in the help file, which are given mainly in VB. However, I am using PowerBuilder for my development tool, can anyone tell me how/where I reference the agent and update objects using a tool other than VB - thru external function declarations from a dll, thru OLE, ...?

Finally figured it out myself - lots of trial and error but it appears that I can access everything thru my PowerBuilder code that is available in VB....
