Summary
This article describes a known issue that user may get a "Unexpected error" on the web UI when clicking "Download configuration" button on "Configure a Beacon" page
Symptoms
Customers of FlexNet Manager Suite (FNMS) and AdminStudio Inventory and Rationalization (AIR) may get an Unexpected error when downloading the configuration file for a beacon. The image below is from AIR, but this error is occurred for FNMS as well.
Cause
This is a known issue fixed in FNMS2017 R1. This is caused by 1) configure a beacon and the beacon is connected to FNMS/AIR server 2) delete the beacon from the web UI, 3) try to re-configure the same beacon again. When a beacon is deleted from the web ui, the record for the beacon is not actually deleted and when re-configuring the beacon, the error is occurred because the beacon is already in the database.
Resolution
Please upgrade to FNMS2017 R1.
Workaround
Please uninstall the beacon from the machine and remove all Windows registry for the software. Then reinstall beacon and the new ID will be given to the beacon.
