Did you mean:

new user = new install kinda??

I am trying to get this understood. Why does every new user on a pc have to re-install an application? I have made current user key available to all users in the package (because then i apparently do not have to re-install it everytime.) But everytime a new user logs in, it asks for the package. FYI it is irrelevant if it is a complete new user (as in no profile) or a user that already exists but has not logged in since the app was installed.

the app is ONCE AGAIN adobe reader 5.1.

I have many other apps and none of them do this, only this absoloute achilles heel of a program....I HATE IT.

OKAY THIS IS WIERD if we open an explorer window (windows key and e NOT my computer) before we run acroreader, the msi service runs through, configures the program and closes without requiring the network files!!!????? what the $%&/ is that all about?

You can see the component that triggers the repair in the systemlog. This might give you a clue why this happens.
