Darwin Descriptor registry keys - info ?

Hello,

I've read a few of the postings relating to this subject but I need to learn more.

Anybody know of where I can find out about 'How' Darwin Descriptor keys work ?. (Give me links if possible - thanks 😛 )

Also, what is the general view out there regarding including these in any repackaging ?. I guess its a No No, Right ?.

All help is greatly appreciated.

You're right, that you shouldn't capture those registry keys directly, but instead populate the Windows Installer COM (Class, ProgId, TypeLib), file extension (Extension, Verb, ProgId), and so forth, tables. As you know, those registry values are used by Windows Installer's advertisement capabilities...
