Have you looked in the Wow6432Node? I have a similar issue. I have a 32bit app (using installscript not msi) and I create all my keys normally in the wow but I need one set of keys to remain up in the 64bit area under SOFTWARE and I cannot seem to figure out how to get around the 6432 translation.

Thank you. this will give me something to look at. I was wondering if it was breaking my file up into multiple parts since it is so big (500+MB) and that might be why it is prompting at what appears to be the 60% copy mark.

I searched for my issue and found this thread http://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?t=189148&highlight=file+path I hate to post a question that has already been asked but no final solution was given to the issue so I will ask again. I have an Installscript project that does some system validation then copies down an exe file and an xml file to the system. That's it. The exe file is rather large, aobut 500MB. I am building the installscript as a single file exe. I opens fine, I click NEXT. The copy window with progress bar and destination path including file name appear. About halfway through the copy (according to the progress bar) I am prompted for the installscript created exe file. This is running from cd and the cd drive letter is pre-populated in the box so all I have to do is click next but I cannot seem to correct this. I have never had this happen before and I cannot figure out why it is now happening. Please help. Thanks in advance. Paul

Ok, I found the correct version of the dll I was calling and have replaced the other one and no longer get the error. However I am still not getting any result back from it. Can someone tell me if I am correctly setting that object using DotNetCoCreateObject? I am not sure if I am passing in the correct parameters. Is the second parameter that is called assemblyandclassname really just supposed to be the classname?

I am trying to call a dll function. It worked a week ago now not. attached is the installscript code and a sample of the dll that I am calling. Sorry I didn't put the whole dll code in. It is a huge assembly. I can get in more detail if needed. I cannot figure out what happened. It worked a week ago now it crashes on the dll call. Earlier today it was simply returning that it couldn't perform the checks. i realized that somehow the file was removed from the support files directory of the install. I put it back in and now I am getting the errors.

The folder is not read-only but thank you for mentioning it. I would not have thought of that right away.

Ok so normally when I get this it is because a file was moved from my source folder. The warnings I am getting now are for files that are generated by the project. ISDEV : warning -5000: Component ' Script' contains a link to a nonexistent file - 'Path to project folder\Script Files\setup.inx' ISDEV : warning -5000: Component ' Disk1 Files(3)' contains a link to a nonexistent file - 'Path to project folder\Script Files\setup.inx' Usually I would just browse to the file and readd it but I cannot figure out how to do that with this file. it is in the location listed in the warning. What do I do? I have no idea what I did to cause this. It was working an hour ago and now I get this and the install crashes.

I need to completely uninstall my copy of Installshield. I tried to do it through Add\Remove but got an error so I thought I would run the CD and try that way and got the same error. Error text follows: The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it. I need to uninstall this so that another engineer can install and register it to their machine and I will be installing premier.

Ok. So I figured out that I can just use a basic MSI and tell it to build the internet release. I still however have the .NEt issue where the release wants to provide a web address to download the dotnetfx file instead of allowing me to include it in the project. My targets cannot be guaranteed to have external internet access and I need to be able to install these prerequisites. Can someone tell me what my options are at this point? Thanks

I am trying to figure out this clickonce thing. I made a simple assembly that just calls notepad on the target. The ClickOnce assistant requires .NET be installed. Everything builds fine but when I run it on the target it tries to download the .NET framework. Is it possible to set the source for the .NET requirement. My target does not have internet access and the intended targets may not either so it is my intent to package all .NET requirement in my app. I am trying to run this on a base XP pro install that has no .NEt installed yet. I selected the .NEt requirement in the requirements page. I even tried to create a pre-req for .NEt but that is giving an error about a download as well. I want the ability to use the network install function and the update checking. Can I do this with the one-click installation project? Thanks Paul

I am just getting into creating installs. My business is still using InstallShield 6.1 pro, but we are evaluating 2009 for its Vista capabilities. Can someone explain to me (noob) the differences between MSI, InstallScript, and InstallScript MSI please? I can't seem to find any good documentation on the acresso site, or could someone give me a link? Thanks
