win 8 ignores prerequisites
In install shield 2012 professional, I included the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express SP3 (x64) and microsoft visual c++ 2010 sp1 redistributable package (x64) as prerequisites, but seems every time win8 just ignored them(I don't have these two installed in my computer). Do I need to installed Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express and c++ 2010 redistributable package (x64) first, in order to install service pack? Or it is just the problem in win8?

Check the install conditions for the prerequisite. Make sure an install condition exists for Win8.

Not tried it myself but I notice you can set a Custom platform condition (well, at least in IS2012Spring).
If you have this feature in IS2012 maybe you can use this to specify the Win8/2012 Major/Minor OS versions manually in a custom property.
