same version different package codes

I have two installations (setup.exe with msi cached locally) with the same version numbers but with different package codes, (I am testing in my computer).
With the Installshield developer 7, before I install the second one I have to desinstall the previus, but now with this version (2008) It’s tell me it's an update and can continue (in the control panel will be two entries)

If the installation it's a *.msi the behaviour is the same that developer 7.

Can anyone explain me the rules :confused:

The help topic "Creating Minor Upgrades" explains the difference in behavior between with-setup.exe and without-setup.exe.

Finally I have disable Small/Minor Upgrade in Upgrade View
