.msi file

I noticed that when my product is installed that my .msi file is also installed. Is this a mistake? Should the .msi file not be installed?

Can you be more specific, what kind of project you are created,

If its a basic msi or installscript msi projects, then the msi will be installed.

Are you referring to the windows installer cache? This is stored in the c:\windows\installer folder. Its used to store files for applications installed using Windows Installer technology (.msi's) and is important for then to function correctly during maintenance, upgrades and uninstall.
