how to build an ISLE project for a Windows Service Application?
I am new to the InstallShield, and looking for information of how to build an ISLE project for a Windows Service Application, something similar with the step "To create the installers for your service" on the Msdn Walkthrough at link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zt39148a.aspx
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I read the thread you refered me to:
http://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?t=197013&highlight=windows+service
But it doesn't answer the quesion of “how to install a Windows Service using InstallShield LE for VS2010?”.
There are three links in the thread:
- The first link http://blogs.msdn.com/b/aaronhallberg/archive/2007/03/30/building-non-msbuild-projects-with-team-build.aspx ... is talking about “Building Non-MSBuild Projects With Team Build”
- The second link http://blog.deploymentengineering.com/2011/03/redemption-of-visual-studio-deployment.html ... is about “Redemption of Visual Studio Deployment Projects”
- The last link http://blog.deploymentengineering.com/2011/01/augmenting-installshield-using-windows_19.html ... is an example of how to build a Windows Service installer using WiX
In the last article, there is also a statment as "I also mentioned that you could use WiX to inject Windows Services into InstallShield 2010 Limited Edition even though the tool wasn't designed to support this."
My question is: Can we build installers for Windows Services Applications using InstallShield LE for VS2010? Where can I find an example of it?
Thanks!

Hi,
It is not possible to install the windows services with IS2010LE.But you can achieve this through the Premier and Professional editions of Install shield. The premier and professional editions are enhanced versions of Install shield which have direct support for starting and stopping windows services.
Thanks,
Madusree
