Windows 2K8 Vs. Vista

Hi

How can I differentiate between Windows 2008 and Vista?
VersionNT and WindowsBuild property values for both the OS are the same. Are there any other properties that I can use?

Thanks!

Does MsiNTProductType (or the like) help?

That seems to have helped. Thanks for your help.

But is MsiNTProductType 1 or > 1 for Vista and 7? I saw another post in here that said VersionNT = 600 And MsiNTProductType > 3 would be Vista (and not Windows Server 2008).

Thanks Michael! However, is safe to assume that the MsiNtProductType of 3(Windows 2000 Professional and later) includes Windows 2008 server? There is no mention of it any where in the link you posted. I only bring this up because of the old addage pertaining to what happens when you assume 🙂

I hope (and believe) it's safe to assume that, but I'd be similarly making the assumption. If you want to know for sure, you'd have to get confirmation from Microsoft.
