Where are custom dialog code errors logged?

When debugging my custom dialog's code there are times that it hangs with no error message or clue to what is going on. Are these logged somewhere when running the install using the button inside the IDE?

Also, it seems anytime I use displayUserMessage() anytime that the dialog is initializing the dialog hangs. Anyone else experiencing that as well?

You have to setup logging for your installation. Click on Installation Sequence in the sequences explorer to see some options.
