Using msiexec with /promptrestart combined with /uninstall
Hi, it seems /uninstall + /promptrestart will never show a restart prompt dialog. Is it an expected behavior?

From the msiexec.exe docs, it appears that passing /promptrestart is the same as setting the REBOOTPROMPT property to an empty string. The REBOOTPROMPT property docs also state that if a reboot is not requested by the installer, setting this property has no effect. If you would like to force a reboot, REBOOT="Force" or /forcerestart can be passed on the command line.
The docs do not appear to indicate any interactions between /uninstall and /promptrestart. It is possible there might be an issue with combining these parameters. If this is the case, you may wish to contact Microsoft for further assistance with this issue.

Thank you. If I don't issue /uninstall and click uninstall in a full UI issued from Add/Remove Program panel, a restart popup will show. So I think it's a question for Microsoft 😄
