I recently ran in to an issue where the user interface of my installer and my patches would disappear after "Configuring Windows Installer" dialog.
The setup would still proceed and complete, but it seemed as though the install was on autopilot.
Does anyone know what would cause this behavior?
To fix the issue, I had to recreate the setup from an older version. (Just imported the components from the broken ism and setup my upgrade, patch, and custom action configurations.)
This could occur if there were no dialogs to run from the install UI sequence (dialog sequences can be conditioned out from the sequences view just like any other action that is present in a sequence). If there are no dialog sequences to run, I believe there will not be any UI displayed after the initial Windows Installer configuration dialog.
