Upgrading and patching in the same time
Hi,
Using msi packages built with IS2009.
I work with a product and i've made a new version of this product.
I use a minor upgrade. (only change package code and version)
I have made a fix (test.msp) based on the new version.
Install new version on clean computer is ok
Install new version on clean computer and then fix is ok
Install directly new version and fix using "PATCH=test.msp" in command line is ok
Upgrade old version with new version is ok
BUT
Upgrade old version directly with new version and fix using "PATCH=test.msp" in command line is NOT ok
In fact it seems some files are not updated...(those that are updated by minor upgrade ?).
The "Repair" action repairs the product...but it would be better if i was able to upgrade/install the fix simultaneously without having to run a repair...
Any idea ?
Thanks for your help.

Could it be a problem trying to apply multiple transform sets as a mixture of QFE and minor patches ?
Is-it possible to run simulteanously the minor upgrade and the QFE referenced using command line and "PATCH" property ?
