Hi, I build the installer for the product v-1.0. Now i plan to make the upgrade for v-1.1. Can we use upgrade installer(same setup.exe) to install v-1.1 on the PC where v-1.0 is not installed? or should we need to make seperate setup.exe for the fresh installation? Usually how this situation is handled?
To ask in Simple, Is it better to make single setup.exe for upgrade and fresh install?
No need. With a setup launcher (setup.exe) the same installer will act as a first time installler if the product is not installed and as a minor upgrade if the earlier version is installed. No need to create two.
