I upgraded an old Installshield 2009 project to 2022 and when I tried to update the splash image, the project builds fine but whenever I try to test the UI or run the built Setup.exe, nothing happens. The moment I put the old file back it all works again.
The working splash image is an indexed BMP. I have tried a new indexed BMP and a full color-depth BMP to no success.
I inherited the project and according to the properties, it is a Basic MSI.
I cannot share the .ism but I can share the splash image. Splash Image .
Since the copyright years are in the image, I was going to update it for the new year.
I was using Installshield 2009 until July last year and was able to update the splash image with it in years past. I had to update to 2022 last year since the licensing server for 2009 was shut down.
