Unable to Overwrite files by updating product version
Hi Guyz,
I am using Installscript MSI Project. Our product current version is 2.0. I need to create an upgrade which relaces certain image file on existing installation. I am just product version from 2.0 to 2.1. I set these files to be always overwritten by right clikcing the files.
But, I dont see these files overwritten after running the installer.
I searched in this forum for hours and hours but could not find any help that works. I modified reinstall mode property even that diint help.
My Doubts:
1. Do I need to created minor/major upgrade item in upgrades view?
2. Do the file ever get overwritten/ copied with the the process that i am following?. Caz installer prompts that product is being upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1 and finishes quickly and doesnt seem to trying to replace files.
Regards,
Sandeep

Try this : Set the files that you want overridden as 'key file' in your Component and set them to 'always override' option.
