Suite Installer - installation of product.exe appears to have failed


I'm currently playing around with the evaluation version of 2012 and have tried to create a suite installer for a PowerPoint AddIn project we have.

This includes the - dotNetFx40_Client_x86_x64.exe, vstor40.exe and our project.msi packages.

The problem I am having is that when the suite is installing both the .exe packages I get a message stating - "The installation of 'package name' appears to have failed. Do you want to continue the installation?" even though they appear to have installed correctly and if you carry on all is fine.

Anyone else seeing similare issues with .exe packages?

If you see that message even though the .exe installations were successful, take a look at the detection conditions that are configured for your .exe packages in the Packages view. The Suite uses the detection conditions to evaluate whether the packages are successfully installed.

Thanks for the pointers and links, most useful and thats done the trick 🙂

All I need now is a progress bar that indicates something whilst installing the .exe's especially with the time it takes to install the .Net 😉
