Silent installation

Anyone in InstallShield? Is it by design that now using IS 2010 during silent installation there is an icon in the task bar. I do not see this on other OS other than Windows 2008. Please see attachment.

Hi there,

What is the project type you are using? Basic MSI, InstallScript MSI or Pure InstallScript? Also is the OS Standard Windows 2008 or Windows 2008 R2?

Hi Alpesh,

It is a pure installscript project. It is windows 2008 r2 but I think it also happens in windows 2008, have not tried windows 7 but I would guess it would be the same.

Hi Alpesh,

Any update about this? BTW, I notice that it is not happening on windows 2003 or windows XP.
