Shortcuts not being removed MSI Basic Installer IS 2024 R1

Hi

I've built a simple basic msi with no custom ations whatsoever. It runs as invoker into appdata. The compnents install. I have an ini file section which goes in OK and created the ini file as expected and a desktop shortcut which runs an executable.

It all installs fine but the ini file and desktop shortcut aren't removed. I'm don't do this full time but I'm pretty sure this should work. No components are shared either. Any ideas please?

MSI (s) (C8:BC) [15:51:20:630]: 'NewShortcut1' shortcut's, 'cmpExe' component will not be removed, so that 'NewShortcut1_8E4B4FD9D0624C55A8BAE53C783748C4.exe' icon will not be removed.
