The version information for the built setup.exe file gets truncated at different lengths. This is due to the buffer size for these fields in the template setup.exe.

i need to add more digits to the product version....

The text of that KB article seems to be missing at the moment, but I believe you'll want to back up the files setup.exe and setupPreReq.exe from C:\Program Files\Macrovision\IS2008\Redist\Language Independent\i386 and then replace them with the files from that hotfix.zip.

Hi,

I tried the mentioned wrokaround of replacing the setup.exe in i386 folder. It worked in one of my machines which has IS 2008 installed, but it did not work in our build machine which has the standalone versione of installshield installed.

I even tried editing the setup.exe using the Resource tuner and got the same results, it does not work on a machine where only the IS 2008 StandaloneBuild is installed.

Is there anyother workaround for this bug?
