RE: Create desktop icons and Start menu entries dynamically?
I have a Basic MSI install with 3 unadvertised desktop shortcuts being created as well as 3 items in the Start menu.
I have a marketing requirement that asks to me to not create desktop shortcuts for my applications and put nothing in the Start menu if this one variable is true. So I am looking into how to create them dynamically.
Any thoughts or suggestions? The easiest solution would be let the users create their own. But what happens when another user logs into the PC? They probably won't see the shortcuts created by the previous user.
Thanks for the help!

DeleteFolderIcon didn't always work correctly, so I went with DeleteFile for the desktop icons. DeleteProgramFolder did work for the Start Menu though. The only problem I have is that sometimes I have to press F5 to refresh the desktop. Any ideas on why that is? Thanks!
