I'm new in installshield. I want to use custom setup in my installer, but i have a few questions:
1.) Can i remove the dialog 'Setup Type' from the action sequence? I want to show the 'custom setup' dialog directly for user to select.
2.) I have 3 features for user selection. There are same files in feature1 and feature2. For this case, should i include these application files in both features? Any recommended solution?
What type of project are you using? To modify dialog boxes in an InstallScript project, you modify one of the UI event handlers, such as OnFirstUIBefore; for MSI, you use the Dialogs view to modify where the Back and Next buttons go for each dialog box.
(The Project Assistant can help control whether certain dialog boxes are displayed, but offhand I don't know if the Setup Type dialog box is one of them.)
For (2), you can put files common to multiple features inside a component, and then add a copy of that component to each feature that needs it.
