Property value reset during (minor) upgrade

Hi,
In my setup there is a checkbox associated with a public property CHECK. This property is set to 1 in the property manager, hence the checkbox is checked by default.
Now I recognised, that, when installing my setup as a minor upgrade, the property CHECK is reset to its default value of 1 - regardless of which checkbox state has been selected during the first installation.

Is there a way to keep the value of a public property during a minor upgrade?

Best regards, H.

To the best of my understanding, the only way is to store the value someplace safe on the target computer, then read it out during the upgrade. For example, on install, you might write a registry key. Then on upgrade (if Installed), read the value of the registry key to set your property.

How's that work for you?

Hi Sairen,
Thanks for your reply. Storing the value on the target machine will work. I only thought there might be some simpler way. H.
