I don't do this much. I'm running IS 2021 R2. Its a basic MSI and in a custom action I'm trying to remove shortcuts as the shortcut name is passed in via an MSI parameter.
I save the filename away in the registry under a productcode identifier. This works fine on installation.
On removal, my custom action gets a blank value for [ProductCode]. My DeleteShortcuts custom action is runin deferred and the DeleteShortcutsProperty is set in the usual way. I'm never completely sure where to put this stuff but I'm surprised that the productcode isn't set.
